These round earth houses called Тolou, built by the Hakkas in China between the 12th and 20 century were proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008, and no argument there- they are something, aren't they? Three to five stories high constructions of rammed earth, housing up to 80 families, they were built originally as a protection against bandits and warlords.
