Check this out: a Dutch hotel with rooms fit in wine casks, salvaged from Switzerland but originating from a French chateau. Each of these "rooms" used to hold 14,500 litres of Beaujolais wine. The rooms have attached bathrooms and sitting rooms- hurry up and reserve them here!!

Tolou Houses in China

This is amazing! These round earth houses called Тolou, built by the Hakkas in China between the 12th and 20 century were proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008, and no argument there- they are something, aren't they? Three to five stories high constructions of rammed earth, housing up to 80 families, they were built originally as a protection against bandits and warlords. Utter Inn is an unusual hotel in the Swedish lake Malaren. The bedroom is located 3 m under the water, while the kitchenette/living area is above the water in what looks on the outside as a shed. Cool.
