I just came back from a short vacation in the Bulgarian countryside, and let me tell you... the henhouses in our village there are nothing like this one! Oh, these Dutch designers... they've got too much time on their hands- and what an imagination!
Joke aside, I actually think there is a market for that in Western Europe- some of my husband's friends used to breed hens in their backyard in Copenhagen (I'm not kidding!) and loved to brag with their eggs... Why, you would ask, would anyone breed hens in a city like CPH? (I know I asked myself that, when I first heard of it)- because they think it's fun for the kids, and because nostalgic things are "in". So, I'm thinking- take that, and add design to it (something not just "presentable enough" when entertaining guests but something that screams "status"), and you have a winner.
