Kokeshi dolls/Японски дървени куклички

I've seen this type of Japanese wooden mini-dolls on the web but didn't know they were called Kokeshi. Now that I searched around on Amazon, Etsy and the web about some nice examples, I could actually see how popular in Western product design they are- judging not just by the scores that are on offer, but also the type of other products that use Kokeshi images- and by the funky contemporary interpretations of this Japanese folk-art doll.

Teзи японски дървени малки кукли се наричат Кокеши и са нещо като народна/фолклорна особеност. Винаги са без ръце и крака, с уголемена глава и съвсем загатнати черти на лицето.
